Dr. Steve Anderson received his DVM from Iowa State University in 1980, and is one of the owners of Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital and Tehachapi Pet Lodge & Outfitters. He is a member of the American, Californian and Kern County Veterinarian Medical Associations, as well as the American Animal Hospital Association. His interest is in surgery, particularly orthopedic. Dr. Anderson and his wife, Nanci, have lived in Tehachapi for 20 years and have raised three children here. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family and friends, boating and golfing. The Anderson family includes a Labrador Retriever named Millie, Augie and Annie (Long-haired Miniature Dachschunds), and Snickers and Willow, (cats who are pretty sure they are Labradors, as well).
Dr. Frank Komin graduated from UC Davis in 1990 and joined Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital immediately after graduation. He is one of the owners of the Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital and the Tehachapi Pet Lodge & Outfitters. He is a member of the American, California and Kern County Veterinary Medical Associations, and the American Animal Hospital Association. His primary interest is in internal medicine with particular emphasis on geriatric pets. He and his wife, Liz, are raising three children on their ranch in the hills. In their spare time, the Komins like to go camping, boating and horseback riding. Their large collection of pets includes two Pugs, an Australian Shepherd, a little dog that defies placing her in any specific breed, three cats, four horses, a few pet rats and many chickens.
Dr. Joshua Freng earned his DVM degree from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. He completed his undergraduate work in Pre-Vet Animal Science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2002. Dr. Freng grew up in Tehachapi, graduating from Tehachapi High in 1998. During high school, he worked at Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital as an assistant and then technician during the summers while completing college. His professional interests include internal medicine, veterinary behavior, diagnostic imaging and the human/animal bond. He is a member of AAHA, AVMA and AVSAB (American Veterinary Society for Animal Behavior). Dr. Freng's personal interests consist of enjoying movies and hiking, reading, listening to jazz and managing his 2 cats and 3 dogs.
Dr. Leslie Baldner joined Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital in August of 2008 after practicing in northern California for many years. She is a graduate of University of Minnesota, and after graduation she practiced veterinary medicine in many exotic locales including Kenya, Argentina, Brazil, and Thailand, before settling down in California. She is a member of the American and Californian Veterinary Medical Associations, and is certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Her professional interests are internal medicine, primarily preventative and geriatric care. She likes to focus on nutritional aspects of health issues, and combines alternative medicine with more traditional approaches whenever this will benefit her patients. When she's not working, she enjoys traveling, running, hiking, trips to the beach, and spending time with her two daughters. The furry members of her family include two crazy cats, and the best running partner in the world, a Dippet (Doberman/Whippet) named Faisca.
